Abstract:In order to investigate the influence of different initiation positions on the directed performance of fragments,the numerical simulation for an assumed directed fragment warhead was conducted by using ANSYS/ LS-DYNA in this paper. The numbers,average velocity and kinetic energy of fragments as well as their enhancements in directed area in different initiation positions were obtained. The influence of different initiation positions on the directed performance of fragments was analyzed. A preferable initiation position,which was easy to achieve in engineering,was proposed.

Abstract:The thermal decomposition of 1,4-dinitroimidazole was measured by DSC. Based on experiments,this paper studied the thermal rearrangement process for preparing 2,4-dinitroimidazole from 1,4-dinitroimidazole. The influences of reaction temperature and reaction time on the yield of 2,4-dinitroimidazole were discussed. An optional production condition was obtained by the experiments: reaction temperature 125 ℃,reaction time 3.5~4 h,yield 95%.

Abstract:The cylinder tests on ROTL-905 and TRAL aluminzed explosives were carried out. The results were analyzed and compared with that of JOB-9003 and TATB explosives. The parameters of JWL equation of state for detonation products of ROTL-905 aluminized explosive were calculated. The results show that because of containing slow reaction element Al,at the earlier period of copper wall expansion,the acceleration of ROTL-905 and TRAL aluminized explosives is far smaller than that of JOB-9003 explosive,whereas the former decreases slowly. At about 6.5 mm and 9.9 mm,the acceleration of the two aluminized explosives exceeds that of JOB-9003 explosive. It also shows the aluminized explosives have stronger continuous working ability.

Abstract:Electrical conductivity measurement for the detonation product is put forward by means of measuring the electrical conductivity of detonation product for the composite explosive composed of HMX and TNT. Experimental results indicate that the electrical conductivity of aluminized explosive is obviously higher than that of the explosive without aluminium. TNT′s (density 1.520 g·cm-3) maximum electrical conductivity is 18000 Ω-1·m-1. The electrical conductivity of TNT 80/Al 20(density 1.628 g·cm-3)is 1.136×107 Ω-1·m-1. It is concluded that the explosion temperature and electron concentration increase with aluminum powder appended in the same explosion,which results in the increasing electrical conductivity of detonation product by the calculation of explosion temperature and electron concentration for detonation product.

Abstract:The compressive creep behavior of PBX based on TATB was investigated. Experiments were taken at different temperatures to identify the strong temperature dependence of the mechanical properties. An obvious temperature transition range related to the jumping of mechanical behavior,i.e. from 40 ℃ to 60 ℃,was obtained. It was proper to choose 55 ℃ as reference temperature for master curve of creep compliance function. The shift factor (aT) was obtained with the curve transforming and used to calculate the two coefficients of WLF equation. Prony series with seven terms are proved to be good fitting for the creep compliance master curve.

Abstract:The effects of the particle size and distribution of ink explosive on the critical explosion transfer performance of explosive logic circuit are studied. The results show that the size,distribution of and uniformity of the explosive can affect the explosion transfer performance of explosive logical circuit.

Abstract:By analyzing the storage rules of silicon type delay composition and characterizing the surface oxidation film of silicon powder under different conditions by Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis(ESCA),it was concluded that the ultimate reason for the drift of delay time of this composition was the generation of oxidation film between the combustible agent and the oxidation agent during the course of storage,and the delay time was prolonged. By increasing the grind time of silicon powder,the delay precision of this composition was improved. With the method of high-temperature accelerated aging,the diffusing dynamic balance of interface between the combustible agent and the oxidation agent achieved,then the delay precision and the storage stability of this composition enhanced.

Abstract:By calculating the normal heat of formation (HOF) of dinitro-polyfurazan series in gas state,an effective method was obtained to calculate the HOF of larger molecules (the relative error is below 7%). The method includes the following processes: (1) designing reactions which have equal bonds and equal electronic pairs,(2) obtaining the total energy (including ZPVE) and the heat of reaction by using parallel calculations (such as parallel Guassian,Dmol3),(3) getting the HOF of small molecules without experimental value by accurately calculating energy (such as G2, CBS-4), and the HOF of unknown molecules by using the experimental values of HOF of the related molecules and calculating the energy. Moreover, the method can be used in other systems.

Abstract:Two isomers of 1,2,4-triazol-5-one: 1,2,4-trihydro-1,2,4- triazol-5-one (Ⅰ) and 2,3,4-trihydro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one(Ⅱ) were fully optimized by HF/6-31G** and B3LYP/6-31G**. The total energy calculation was also performed by MP2/6-31G**//B3LYP/6-31G**. The geometry,electron structure,net charges of atoms and vibration spectroscopic properties were calculated. The stabilities of the two compounds were analyzed and compound Ⅰwas more stable than Ⅱ which is consistent with the experimental results.

Abstract:The mechanical properties of the aviation kerosene gels with hydroxypropyl cellulose as a gelator are studied by using a soft-solid tester. It is found that the contents of the components excepting the solvent and the gelator,including surfactants,stabilizers and other additives influence the yield stress of the gels significantly. The yield stress increases along with increasing the concentration of the gelator or that of the surfactant,OP-10. Introduction of the stabilizer C accelerates the formation of the gels and improves the performance of the gels subject to shear force.
Abstract:The screening characteristics of conventional HC(halogenated organic compound)smoke to visible light and infrared were analyzed. According to the limitation and principle of HC smoke,a series of prescription of anti-infrared smoke agents were determined by a lot of experiments,such as replacing zinc with magnesium,replacing zinc oxide with manganese oxide,adding red phosphorus and other organic compounds containing rich carbon. In a medium-sized smoke chamber,the anti-infrared characteristics of the new smokes were tested. The method of evaluation test was elaborated and the typical thermal images of the infrared object screened by the smoke were given. On the basis of the experiments,two kinds of new and effective anti-infrared smoke agents based upon HC were selected and the corresponding infrared extinction coefficients and the Fourier transform infrared spectra were listed. In contrast with conventional HC smoke,the infrared extinction coefficient of the new smoke has a large increase between 41.86 percent and 78.46 percent in 3~5 microns and 8~14 microns,so that the characteristics of HC smoke were obviously improved,especially in far infrared band.

Abstract:The molecular recognition of β-cyclodextrin to 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole-5-one (NTO) and 1,2-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-one (TO) was respectively studied by matrix-assisted laser-desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). The effects of different matrixes and concentrations on mass spectra were investigated. The results show that β-cyclodextrin has strong recognition ability to NTO and TO. While the mole ratio of sinapic acid used as matrix and complex was 100:1,the hydropeaks of the two kinds of complex used as base peak were determined by MALDI-TOF-MS,so that the molecular weights of TO and NTO were accurately obtained.

Abstract:The solvent-nonsolvent method was chosen to prepare the igniter mixture based on the current technologies of preparing the igniter mixture. The technical process was made and the igniter mixture was characterized by SEM and DSC. The results show that the igniter mixture was nearly spheric. The flowability of the granules and the thermal stability were improved.

Abstract:Aimed at fuel-rich propellant based on boron having high heat value and poor combustion performance,a method of measuring burning peculiarity with low cost is introduced. The experiments were carried out in wider range of different combination of three kinds of important ingredients of propellant,and the combustion district of the fuel-rich propellant based on boron is given. At the same time,it was found there is a appropriate proportion between metal and binder which makes the propellant hold optimal combustion performance when the content of oxidant is fixed. Considering of the technological characteristics of the propellant,the adjustment range of the combustion performance is given.

Abstract:The methods of direct reaction and solvent evaporation are adopted to coat boron powder with PBT. Transmission electron microscope,acidity-instrument and rotary viscometer are used to analyze the properties of the coated boron powder. The results obtained by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscope show that the surface is perfect. The analysis results obtained by acidity-instrument and rotary viscometer show that coating of PBT can improve the value of pH of the solution with boron and effectively reduce the viscosity of propellant. The analysis of combustion residues shows that the burning efficiency is obviously improved after coated by PBT,and the amount of substance proportion between B2O3 and B increases from 1:22.7 to 1:8.51.

Abstract:The principle of closed burner method is introduced in this paper. The factors affecting the accuracy of measurement results are analyzed,and the heat-loss is modified based on experiments. The standard deviation of measurement results has been improved to 1% by adopting modification. The combustion rate of propellant at any pressure can be obtained by one test of closed burner method,and closed burner method will be an effective tool to study new style propellant working under high pressure.

Abstract:Diaminoazofurazan(DAAzF) and diaminoazoxyfurazan(DAAF)have merits including good heat-resistent property,high heat of formation,low sensitivity,small critical diameter and good detonation performance. The synthetic procedure,physical-chemical property,detonation performance,sensitivity as well as thermal stability of both DAAF and DAAzF are reviewed. In addition,effects of technological process and synthesis scale on the yield are discussed. It is found that DAAzF and DAAF are promising in insensitive explosive applications.
Abstract:Nitrogen-rich compounds are promising materials for gas generating pyrotechnic compositions. The synthesis and properties of nitrogen-rich compounds with high nitrogen content,good thermal stability and high formation enthalpy on the basis of tetrazole,tetrazine and furazan structures are reviewed. The synthetic routes of 3,6-bis(1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-yl-amino)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine(BTATZ),3,3′-azobis(6-amino-1,2,4,5-tetrazine)(DAAT),1,1′-dimethyl-5,5′-azotetrazole(DMATZ) and 3,6-bis(2H-5-tetrazol-yl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (BTT) are mainly discussed.
Abstract:The recent development of silicone rubber inhibitor′s mechanical,antiablation and bonding properties were introduced in this paper,which showed that the diameter of the filler in silicon rubber liner had main effect on its reinforcement. The antiablation of silicone rubber liner can be improved both by changing the structure of unvulcanized rubber and adding antiablative fillers,and the bond strength between propellant charge and the liner would be increased largely by coating the primer liquid on the charge surface. It was also shown that the research work should focus on nano-composite fillers and blending technology of silicone with other polymers to improve the reinforcement of silicon rubber liner.
