Abstract:To decrease surface polarity and hygroscopy of ammonium nitrate (AN),a surfactant,a coupling agent and a polymer were used to coat AN particles. Spraying-drying technique was used in coating technology. The surface polarity,surface structure and hygroscopic rate of the coated AN particles were studied by surface energy measurement,scanning electron microscopy and moisture experiment. It was obtained that the coated AN particles by surfactant,coupling agent and polymer showed low surface polarity and hygroscopic rate.

Abstract:A dendritic bonding agent (DBA) that can coat ammonium perchlorate (AP) filler successfully is reported. The coating properties are characterized by scanning electronic microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Micro-infrared. DBA forms a viscous film on the surface of AP; the coating degree can be up to 47% from XPS analysis, the coating degree increases by increasing of CN group content. Micro-infrared analysis indicates that H-bond is formed between DBA and N—H groups, and it proves that DBA is available for coating AP.

Abstract:The thermal stability of high burning rate propellant is studied by DSC, methyl violet test and weight loss test. With the help of thermal accelerated aging test, the curves of change of the effective stabilizer with time during the thermal decomposition of propellants at 65 ℃,75 ℃,85 ℃and 95 ℃ are obtained. In the calculation of life, the time (τ) needed for consuming the effection. stabilizer of 50% at various temperatures (T) is defined as the end point of safe storage life of the propellant. The values of τ at various temperatures are fitted to Bethelot's equation, T=a+blogτ, by the linear least-squares method. With the help of the obtained equations, the safe storage life at 30 ℃ is predicted for four high burning rate propellants. The results show that the relative thermal stability of the propellant containing 1,3-dimethyl-1,3-diphenyl urea (C2) and CdO (A), the propellant containing resorcin (ReS), C2 and CdO (B) and the propellant containing C2 and Res (C) decreases in the order A>B>C. Replacing Res partly or wholly with CdO as a stabilizer increases the thermal stability and extends the storage life of propellants. The storage in closed environment is an effective way for improving the stability and extending the storage life of the propellant containing ReS.

The major part of the report is also devoted to the investigations of properties of the compounds obtained and their applications in safe electric and laser detonators.

Abstract:The cast-cured under vacuum vibration method of charge production was introduced in the paper. With this method,the charge of HTPB bonded RDX has good density uniformity and no cracks. Results showed that adding some more insensitive explosives as nitroguanidine(NQ) or 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole-5-one(NTO) to partially replace RDX could effectively improve the vulnerability of aluminized explosive,for example,small scale impact sensitivity was greatly lowered,reaction type of bullet test,Susan test was very low. These plastic bonded explosives(PBX)are suitable for warhead of high performance weapon.

Abstract:To prepare nitroguanidine of high bulk density,a technology converting needle-shaped to spheroidal nitroguanidine was studied through adding crystalline growth retardants based on orthogonal experiments. Methyl cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol were used as the retardants. Stirring rate,cooling speed and concentrations of two retardants were considered as experimental factors in orthogonal design for aqueous solution of nitroguanidine. Bulk density of the spheroidal nitroguanidine reached 1.12 g·cm-3 under conditions of 1.5 wt% methyl cellulose,1.5 wt% polyvinyl alcohol,cooling rate of 0.4 ℃·min-1 and stirring speed of 800 rpm.
Abstract:Desensitizing mechanism and different effects of TATB,wax and graphite on explosive sensitivity were discussed on basis of the changes of the mentioned desensitizers under the action of drop hammer impact,extrusion stress and impact acceleration-time curves. Experimental results such as drop hammer and susom test of some plastic bonded explosives (PBX) were analyzed.
Abstract:This paper deals with the possibility of treating the wastewater containing RDX by a novel bioassay techuique. The general characteristics of the wastewater were analyzed,and its anaerobic biodegradability was investigated. The experimental results indicate that the anaerobic biotreatment is suitable to apply to this wastewater. The biodegradability could amount to 89.9%,and the pH value of the wastewater could meet anaerobic reactor′s requirements. For lack of nitrogen and phosphorous source as nutrients,it is necessary to add salts containing these two elements into the water in order to meet the ratio of CODBD:N:P=300~500:5:1. In addition,sulphates exhibit no negative effects on the wastewater biotreatment,and 94% of RDX in the wastewater could be destroyed and removed.

Abstract:2,4,7,9,11,14-hexanitro-2,4,7,9,11,14-hexaaza-tricyclo [8.4.0.03,8] tetradecane-5,6,12,13-difuroxan(HHTTD) was synthesized from nitration of HTTD (Ⅲ) that was the aicd-promoted condensation product of 3,4-diaminofurazan and diformyltetrohydroxypiperazine. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis,IR and MS spectra. The detonation velocity of HHTTD maybe up to 9.5 km/s.

Abstract:FOX-12, (i.e. N-gualnyl urea-dinitriamide), can be synthesized by amonium dinitramide (ADN) and dicyandiamide. Its structure was identified by IR, UV. Some properties such as friction sensibility, impact sensibility and hygroscopicity were determined.

Abstract:The properties of N-guanylurea dinitramide (FOX-12) have been studied. FOX-12 is dissoluble in cold water. It has a crystal density of 1.755 g/cm3,the heat of combustion 1 483.98 kJ/mol,the temperature of decomposition 218.41℃,low sensitivity and good thermal stability. FOX-12 can be compatible with the common energetic materials,such as HMX,RDX etc.

Abstract:The p~t curves of 100 meshes and 80 meshes RDX are measured with the closed bomb test. The results show that reducing the particle size may enhance the pressure exponent. Furthermore, the two phase combustion process of RDX is analyzed, it can be seen that the particle size has an effect on the dp/dt~t relations of combustion.

Abstract:HMX with nanometer particle size and narrow particle distribution was successfully prepared by impinging method. The effects of different dispersants on particle size and particle size distribution were studied in some detail. It is concluded that dispersant 1 and dispersant 2 can improve considerably the particle distribution of HMX. In the presence of a suitable amount of dispersant 1,the obtained HMX has a effective average particle diameter of 70.1 nm and 68.9 nm,a particle distribution range of 0.9 nm and 1.4 nm respectively.
Abstract:An eutectic composition consisting of high energy density material DNTF and TNT was investigated by the phase diagram. A DNTF/TNT composition with high DNTF percent(wt%) was selected as the basic liquid carrier. A melt-cast explosive mixture with detonation velocity of 8 800 g·cm-3 and explosive power of 159%TNT was developed. It could be used as the basic formula for shaped charge or fragmentation warhead.

Abstract:Polymorph predictor is a useful tool for crystal structure. Prediction with this method,the structure of triamino-trinitrobenezene (TATB) was simulated. Parameters of crystal structure were P-1,a=9.01Å,b=9.01Å,c=6.01Å,α=90.01°,β=120.00°,γ=90.01°,ρ=2.03 g·cm-3,XRD spectrum was also obtained (there were strong absorbing peaks at 2θ=11.5°,29.5°) . The calcu lated results were very close to experimental results.
Abstract:The liner for double-based propellant was prepared from HTPB,toluene diisocyanate,diisooctyl sebacate,1,4-butanediol and mica. The effects of dosage of each material on the properties of bonding and mechanical were studied. The stability of the liner was carried out by aging test at 70 ℃. The grains were coated by the liner and were tested in motor at high and low temperature separately. Results show that the bonding and mechanical properties of the liner can be affected by changing the dosage of toluene diisocyanate,diisooctyl sebacate,1,4-butanediol and so on.

Abstract:The ignition principle and the characteristics of the exploding foil slapper are introduced. The integration design for the slapper igniter with the ignition composition cup is used to make the exploding foil igniter. The results of the exploding foil igniter performance test and successful to rocket motor ignition composition show that the igniter cannot be ignited by 3 A direct current in 5 min and has better capabilities in resisting static electricity,radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference. The rocket moter ignition composition can be ignited by the exploding foil igniter safely and reliably.
Abstract:A test method named target wires measurement was described,which was proved to be efficient and convenient in measuring the fragment velocity after explosion of detonator. Attenuation curves of the fragment velocity and distribution curve of the fragment velocity along the axis of detonator under the test conditions were obtained.
Abstract:Effects of different substituent groups in 3,3-disubstituted oxetane monomer on the condense state of its homopolymer were analyzed. The energetic oxetane-based binder will be liquid when two substituent groups are different at 3,3-place of oxetane. It was pointed out that introduction of cyano group into chain of the energetic binder could improve mechanical properties of solid propellant with it.
