Abstract:An improved method for the preparation of pentaerythrityl tetramine was reported.Pentaerythrityl tetrabromide was first prepared starting from pentaerythritol via two steps. Pentaerythrityl tetrabromide was then treated with sodium p-toluenesulphonamide to give an intermediate, which was converted to pentaerythrityl tetramine (2,2-diamnomethyl-1,3-propanediamine) disulfate. The overall yield was 30%. The effects of reaction condition, solvent and phase transfer catalyst on the reaction were discussed.
Abstract:2,4,7,9,11,14-hexazatricyclo[8.4.0.03,8]tetradecane is synthesized from formamide and 2,3-bishydroxylpiperazine that is the condensation product of ethylenediamine and glyoxal. The total yield of 2,4,7,9,11,14-hexazatricyclo[8.4.0.03,8]tetradecane is 51% by optimizing the reaction conditions (time,temperature,solvent etc.).
Abstract:Diaminofurazan (DAF) generated from glyoxal is oxidized by the mixture of hydrogen peroxide and concentrated sulfuric acid to give diaminoazoxyfurazan (DAAF),which is subsequently oxidized to afford a high energy density compound — dinitroazoxyfurazan (DNOAF).The total yield of DNOAF is 11%.

Abstract:The oxidative reactivity of hexabenzylhexaazaisowutzitane(HBIW)under different conditions was studied. It was found that the N-benzyl groups were found to form benzoyl group after oxidation. They might also be first debenzylated and then acetylated by potassium permanganate in acetic anhydride/DMF.

Abstract:The basic principle and technology approach that applying MDL chemical reaction database software and computer aided design system in the synthetical routes of energetic materials are expounded. Based on the SGI graphic station, applying the ISIS operation platform software and MDL chemical reaction database software, we designed the synthetical routes of RDX and a kind of dummy energetic material. It is proved that the MDL chemical reaction database software is viable and effective in designing the synthetical routes of energetic materials .

Abstract:A kind of new explosives, insensitive to impact and fire, is introduced. The explosives belong to cast cured explosives, in which polymeric elastomer HTPB is used as binder, HMX or RDX as the main explosives. They have high detonation energy, low vulnerability and good surrounding properties, and they can be used in explosive charge of fighter with high performance.

Abstract:The detonation heats of Al-containing explosives in the air, water or vacuum are measured by using constant temperature calorimeter. The reaction mechanism of Al-containing explosives is studied according to the detonation heat. The results show that a part of aluminum powder is reacted behind the chemical reaction zone in the air.

Abstract:The plastic bonded explosive(PBX) based on TATB has been aged 120 days at 0,-10,-20,-30,-40 ℃ respectively. The characteristics of the molecular structure have been identified by FTIR. The thermal stabilities of PBX before and after aged by low temperature have been determined by VST, TG and DTA. The results show that the structure of PBX based on TATB does not change after aged by low temperature, and the thermal stability is good. It declares that low temperature aging has little effect on PBX based on TATB.

Abstract:In this paper, the forming property of the interface between glass fibers and polyurethane is studied by using CSLM and IR spectroscopy. Microscopic results show that the dispersed effect of glass fibers in KH550 is quite good, a dense membrane is formed on the glass fibers′surface, and the thickness and uniformity will have influenced on the forming of the regular foamed cell of polyurethane. The results of IR spectroscopy show:NCOand —NH2 have reacted to be carbamido, the steady interface with chemical bonds is formed. And the mechanic properties of two types of surface modified glass fibers loaded rigid polyurethane foams are investigated, at the same apparent density, the compressive strength has increased spontaneously, while the modulus has a little difference.
Abstract:A useful method to separate the impurities from the ammonium dinitramide(ADN) product and to determine the purity of the ADN product is put forward.The results show that MIBK not only is an effective solvent to separate the ammonium nitrate(AN)impurities,but also is a good medium to chemicaly titrate the ADN.Both precision and accuracy of the purity analysis are good,the coefficient of variation is not more than 0.19%,the relative deviation of the results to be determined with two methods is not more than 0.25%.

Abstract:Active additives for changing combustion properties are added into double-based propellants so as to meet multi-purpose demands. Potassium nitrate is an useful component for some special propellants and fire-extinguishers in Russia. But the study of combustion of double-based propellants containing KNO3 shows that combustion catalysis is decreased, and the higher the KNO3 content , the weaker the catalysis. Nitramines (RDX,HMX) show active function upon the energy properties and the combustion catalysis of propellants. The experimental results demonstrate that combustion rate of propellants with or without RDX is almost same. It means that Z for propellants with RDX is increased .For propellants containing HMX the catalysis show the same picture compared with that of containing RDX. Special study of catalysis of propellants upon nitramines shows that catalysts do not act upon nitramines. It means that only for double-based propellants nitramines demonstrate active role on combustion catalysis.The various function of active additives upon the combustion catalysis of propellants may be explained by the various mechanisms of combustion catalysis of propellants with KNO3 and nitramines. Theoretically, in the space zone near the surface of condensed phase of double-based propellants there exists carbon frog-carbon aerosol zone, which can retain the catalysts particles and promote the catalysis reaction. KNO3 as a positive oxygen balance compound can destroy the carbon aerosol zone, decrease the catalysis, nitramines as negative oxygen balance compounds can increase carbon aerosol zone inversely. Therefore basing on the various value of oxygen balance of additives the role of additives changes from promoting combustion catalysis to preventing them.
