Abstract:Four compounds of phosphite ester and phosphoramide containing azido groups were synthesized. The molecular structure of the products has been confirmed by IR,1HNMR,FAB-MS and elemental analysis.

Abstract:Triaminoguanidinum azide (TAZ)is a promising ingredient for developing propellants with high specific impulse,low combustion temperature and low smoke used in missile or electrothermal chemical guns. The authors synthesized triaminoguanidinum nitrate (TAGN) and then transformed it into TAZ by reaction of sodium azide (NaN3) with a kation-exchange resin,but it was inevitable to leave some solid impurities like unreacted NaN3 and the by-product,NaNO3,in the final product,and the yield of TAZ is only 23% based on TAGN. Therefore,this method is not beneficial to industrial production. In order to avoid the trouble above,the authors synthesized TAZ in non-aqueous medium by the reaction of free triaminoguanidinum (TAG) with the fresh acid of HN3 formed by ion-exchange resin and NaN3. The experimental results indicate that the reaction of sulfonate resin and NaN3 in methanol can quantitatively produce HN3 which is easy to be separated out and then react with pure TAG. This way,therefore,is promising to be used as an industrial procedure avoiding inorganic salts remained in the final TAZ product. The neutralization of TAG and HN3 should be theoretically complete,but the yield of TAZ is only increase to 73.5% and 50% based on TAG and TAGN,respectively. The reason of incomplete neutralization should be further researched.
Abstract:The author briefly analyses the problems of setting new explosives and explosive compositions with classification of low vulnerable ammunition (LOVA) explosives. Further a brief analysis of known characteristics of explosives is realised. 4,10-dinitro-4,10-diaza-2,6,8,12-tetraoxatetracyclo[5.5.0.05,9.03,11]dodecane(TEX) is taken to be a low vulnerable explosive. But has not been reported in any references about its utilization in wide scale. The analysis in this article is a try to find a possible explication of current situation and further development.
Abstract:The time differences of a simultaneous initiation device including the initiation time differences of the detonators, build-up time differences of the detonation waves of the boosters and finally the main charge can be measured by the distances of the Dautriche line grooves imprinted in a target block-mild steel disc-by the intersection of detonation waves. Accuracy time differences of better than 0.1 μs can be achieved by carefully arranging the test set-up.

Abstract:The molecular geometries,electronic structures and IR spectra at the four conformations of pentaerythritol diazido dinitrate have been calculated by means of DFT-B3LYP method. Among the four conformations,the one with structure of one -NO2 group at cis-position and other -NO2 group and two -N3 groups at trans-position is the most stable.The calculated absorbed frequencies of -NO2 groups and -N3 groups in IR spectra are good consonant with the corresponding experimental.

Abstract:The quenched surface characteristics and flame structure of RDX-CMDB propellants containing single lead salt,or Pb/C binary catalysis system,or Pb/Cu/C tribasic catalysis system were investigated. It is found that different catalyst systems bring about different types and sizes of characteristic substances borned on the quenched surface of the propellants, and different geometrical shapes and brightness of the luminous substances on the combustion surface.The flame of the propellant becomes much brighter with the pressure increase.

Abstract:The effect of spherical and non-spherical aluminum powder on the combustion behavior of the low burning-rate HTPB propellant was studied by means of both static burning-rate measurement and firing test of the>112 mm evaluation test motor. The results showed that the burning-rate of the spherical aluminum propellant could be adjusted by means of variation of the particle size combination of the oxidizer. The results also showed that the burning-rate at high pressure and the burning-rate exponent of the spherical aluminum propellant are higher than those of the non-spherical aluminum propellant. There is no remarkable change in temperature sensitive coefficient of burning rate.

Abstract:The thermal decompositions of two kinds of NH4ClO4 (AP) with different grain size were investigated by DTA and TC-FTIR coupling. It is proposed that the decomposition of AP crystal obeys the process of “topochemistry ” and it is explained that there are two steps in the decomposition of the coarse grain size. On the basis of the gaseous products identified by real-time and rapid-scan FTIR and reported results in the literatures, the different mechanisms of the two steps during AP decomposition process are suggested.
Abstract:To guarantee the normal running of gas generators,it is important to control the burning residue produced from the generator liner. By properly reducing the content of curing agent,TMTD,adjusting the curing time and avoiding post-curing,the best TMTD content of 0.4~0.5 g in 100 g butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber based liner and 4 h of curing time is determined. The experimental results show that after high temperature aging test of the liner,the gas generator can normally work.

Abstract:The contact angles of several batchs of F2314 solution and other fluoropolymer solution to 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) pellet were measured by TY-82 contact angle instrument. The results show that the contact angles on TATB are small to the solution of the copolymer of difluoroethylene and hexafluoropropene F2602,F2603. To the copolymer of difluoroethylene and trifluorochloroethylene F2314,the contact angles vary with the change of the batch when the solution content is 8%,at the same time the contact angles will decrease when the solution content is lowered. F2314 solution has good soaking effect on TATB when butyl acetate is used as solvent.

Abstract:A creep mechanism of PBX which is a polymer matrix composite filled by large number of solid particle is studied from the theory of deformation and sliding of molecular chain of the polymer in this paper. It is shown that the creep property of the polymer is the main factor influencing on the creep-damage properties of the composite though polymer content is so little in amount. The creep experimental results of Johnson are analyzed further by one-dimensional viscoelasticity-damage model about creep. The influence of the granularity on the creep-damage of PBX material and a certain probability of the creep-damage of PBX material are discussed initially.
Abstract:Based on the characteristics of single explosives,their detonation velocity is correlated to the cons-tituents of composite explosives and a new method is developed therefrom to calculate and predict the detonation velocity of composite explosives. The results show that the calculated detonation velocity is in good agreement with an average deviation of 1.58% to the experimental data.
Abstract:The thermal decomposition of Comp. B after treating at different temperature was studied by DSC-7.The results show that the apparent activation energy and the onset temperature of the reaction are decreased with increase of treatment temperature.
