Abstract:Monoacetylpentanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(MPIW)as contaminated byproduct in preparing crude CL-20 has been confirmed by elemental analysis, FTIR,UV,1H NMR,13C NMR and FD-MS spectra.MPIW,white solid,mp 203.5℃,is insoluble in water and readily soluble in acetone,acetonitrilc and other solvents.

Abstract:Eu(NTO)3·(H2O)5]·5H2O was prepared by mixing the aqueous solution of lithium 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-onate and the dilute nitric acid solution of europium oxide.The sigle crystal structure has been determined by a four-circle X-ray diffractometer.The crystal is monoclinic,space group P21/n with crystal parameters of a=18.702(2),b=6.548(3),c=19.323(3)Å,β=95.33(1)°,V=2358.3(5)Å3,Z=4,Dc = 2.026g/cm3,μ=27.678cm-1,F(000)=1432.The final R is 0.0233.

Abstract:The molecular geometries and electronic structures of the four conformations of PDADN arc fully optimized by using the semi-empirical AM1-MO method.Among the four conformations, the structure with one-ONO2 group at trans-conformation and another-ONO2 and two-N3 groups at cis-conformations is the most stable.When all four groups,two-ONO2 and two-N3,are at trans-conformations,the nuclei repulsion energy is lower and the dipole moment is smaller than those in other conformations.

Abstract:The deflagration-to-detonation transition (DDT)process of high-energy propellant was experimentally investigated and the velocity of flame, predetonation column length(PCL), detonation velocity and pressure were obtained. It is found that in a certain density(φ)range,the PCL-φ is a U-shaped curve and the detonation velocity linearly increases with the density. The experimental results are theoretically analyzed.

Abstract:The commercial ammonium nitrate(AN)was modified by using surfactants and the physical and explosive properties of the modified product were experimentally investigated.The results show that the properties of modified AN are better than those of the commercial one and can be used as a good oxygenant in solid propellant and idustrial explosives.

Abstract:Ultrafine diamond powder prepared by explosive detonalion is a new assortment of synthetic diamond.In this work, underwater explosion of cast TNT/RDX 50/50 charge was used for the preparation.An improved method is that the explosion synthesis can be carried out subsepuently one times and more in the same batch of water in the explosion chamber.Expeimental results revealed that the products prepared by continuous multiexplosion up to 9 times gives nearly the identical XRD and TEM graph and IR spectra as those of the product preparcd by single expolsion.The total yicld of diamond powder does not decrease as well.All of the experimental results indicate the multicxplosion method has no harmful influencc on the particlc size and structure of diamond powder,while the procedure is much more simplifed and production efficency is obviously enhanced.
Abstract:The application status of computer tomography(CT)in nondestructive testing high explosive charges is reviewed.The U.S.Department of Energy (DOE)subordinated LLNL,LANL and Pantex Plant carried on a series of work in this field in cluding setting up CT scanners, formulating experimental methods and image reeonstruction, etc,The compressed cylindric and hemispheric charges of PBX-9502, PBX-9501 and LX-10-2 were tested to evaluate the feasibitity and superiority of CT as a nondestructive testing method for qualification of high explosive charges.
