    Abstract:

The cylindrical and plate-like HMX crystals were prepared by the slow evaporated crystallization in the capillary tube and the petri dishes, respectively, and were characterized by optical microscope and powder x-ray diffraction (XRD). Results show both HMX crystals present the striking (011), (022), (033) peaks, which suggests the appearance of (011) face. It demonstrates that the restricted crystallization could be used as a method to control the HMX morphology.
