Numerical Simulation of the Porosity Influence on Thermal Conductivity of Polymer Bonded Explosive

    Abstract:

    A representative volume element (RVE) model was developed to investigate the thermal conductivity of three-phase polymer bonded explosive (PBX), and the fraction and distribution of the fillers and pores were taken into consideration. The influence of porosity on the thermal conduction of PBX was analyzed. Results show that the thermal conduction of PBX decreases exponentially with the increase of porosity.
