PBX Booster Explosive Based on HMX/TATB

    Abstract:

    The optimum formulation with fine HMX 45.5%,coarse HMX 45.5%,TATB 5%,Viton A 2.0%,and PNP 2.0% respectively was confirmed by the orthogonal experiment and blend binder and main explosive particle grading technology. Moulding powder of the new booster explosive was prepared by solution-water suspension,and the properties of this formulation were tested. The results show that its main properties(small clapboard amount,impact sensitivity,vacuum stability,self ignition temperature,volume expansibility,velocity of detonation)were better than that of PBXN-5.
