    Abstract:

    Isopropyl nitrate is prepared by nitrating isopropanol with nitric acid at 100℃ in the presence of urea and ammonium nitrate. The yield of isopropyl nitrate can be obtained over 85% under the optimum reaction conditions. The purity of isopropyl nitrate can be over 98% based on the analysis of gas chromatography.
