Acetanilide was nitrated in nitric-sulfuric acid mixture and the concentra tion of nitroacetanilide at different reaction time were determined by means of UV-Vis spectrum. The nitration rate constant of acetanilide obtained therefrom indicates this nitration is a second order reaction.
