In order to explore new energetic materials with lower production cost and higher density than that of PYX synthesized in Los Alamos National Laboratory,the title compound was synthesized by using 2-aminopyridine as starting material and through a succession of condensation,nitration,and ammoniation reactions. Some of the theoretical analyses concerning the compound are given.
